The Turkish-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce ( TD-IHK ) is a Turkish-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce founded in Cologne in 2003 . Since February 2012, the Turkish-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Unternehmerverband e. V. has its headquarters in Berlin . Another office is located in the Cologne Chamber of Commerce and Industry .
founding
After signing the protocol between the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK) and the Turkish Chamber and Exchange Union (TOBB), the German-Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Istanbul (AHK) was founded in 1994. Ten years later, on October 22nd, 2003, the Turkish-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TD-IHK) with its headquarters in Cologne was founded on the basis of the same protocol. In the presence of the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Federal Chancellor Gerhard Schröder , as well as the North Rhine-Westphalian Prime Minister Peer Steinbrück , the official founding event took place on April 27, 2004 in Cologne with 1,400 guests.
In February 2012 the TD-IHK moved its headquarters to Berlin.
The chamber
As a business association, the TD-IHK is represented by a ten-member board - half of which are of Turkish and German origin. The board reports to the members once a year at the general meeting. The chamber is supported by the contributions of the members. These - both from Turkey and Germany - cover the entire spectrum from international corporations to sole proprietorships, from industry, trade, services and crafts. The services of the TD-IHK include services and advice, always with a focus on supporting member companies or those interested in entering the Turkish or German market.
A third focus of the Chamber's work is the promotion of vocational training.
The board of directors
The ten-member board of the TD-IHK is elected for three years by the ordinary general assembly. It consists equally of German and Turkish members. Two board members are delegates from the founding organizations TOBB and DIHK.
