The Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH (short Luther ) is a German, internationally active law firm that advises on commercial and tax law. The company is based in Cologne at the Rheinauhafen .

history

In 1992, the Krüger und Partner Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH was founded by a partner of Arthur Andersen . In 1995 the company was reorganized as Freihalter Krüger und Partner Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH . In 1998 the company name was changed to Andersen Freihalter Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH . In 2000, "Andersen Freihalter" merged with the commercial law firm "Luther & Partner" in Hamburg and Berlin , which was founded in 1950 by the lawyer Martin Luther (1906–1985) as a continuation of his previous legal practice in Berlin since 1933. Martin Luther co-founded a form commentary on company law (now Happ, company law), and participated in the London Debt Conference. In addition, as an author, co-founder of the German Institution for Arbitration in 1974 and an arbitrator, he made a significant contribution to German arbitration after the Second World War .

As a result of the merger of "Luther & Partner" with "Andersen Freihalter", the company was renamed Andersen Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH . Also at the Essen and Leipzig locations , the law firm goes back to historically grown local law firms that joined the company. In 2001, Wilhelm Happ and Martin Luther, the son of the firm's founder, left the firm and founded the law firm "HappLuther" Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH in Hamburg (today: MÖHRLE HAPP LUTHER Partnerschaft mbB), which was re-established in 2006 Three-person team "Luther" joined. In 2002 the company merged with “Menold & Aulinger” to form Luther Menold Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH , before the company was renamed “Luther” Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH in 2005.
