Bunka Kaikan

The Tōkyō Bunka Kaikan ( Japanese 東京 文化 会館 , dt. "Tokyo Cultural Center") is a Japanese concert hall in Ueno Park in Tokyo .

The Tōkyō Bunka Kaikan was designed by the Japanese architect Kunio Maekawa , it was built in 1961 and renovated between 1998 and 1999. The larger hall offers space for 2303 people in five tiers, the smaller hall offers 649 places in two tiers. The institution is operated by the Tōkyō-to rekishi bunka zaidan (English Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture , "Foundation for History and Culture of the Tokyo Prefecture ").
