The Journal of Climate is a monthly, peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the American Meteorological Society since 1988 . She publishes original research articles on meteorological topics such as large-scale changes in the climate system, in the earth's atmosphere , in the ocean or on land, as well as on climate prediction and climate simulation. Review articles are rarely published at the invitation or approval of the editor.
The impact factor in 2016 was 4.161, the five-year impact factor was 5.345. This placed the journal in 10th place out of 85 scientific journals in the “ Meteorology and Atmospheric Sciences ” category for the two-year Impact Factor .
