American Meteorological Society
The American Meteorological Society (AMS) promotes the development and dissemination of knowledge from meteorology . But it also deals with those related sciences such as B. oceanography and hydrology and their possible applications. The AMS was founded in 1919 and today has over 11,000 members.
Her awards include the Carl-Gustaf Rossby Research Medal and the Jule G. Charney Award, and in Oceanography the Sverdrup Gold Medal and the Henry Stommel Research Award .
