T43 (Paralympics)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

T43 and F43 are starting classes of Paralympic sports for athletes in athletics . Affiliations of athletes to the two starting classes are outlined as follows:

"Double lower leg amputees, lower leg and forefoot loss, double forefoot loss and those equivalent to these restrictions."

The division into classes indicates the degree of functional disability of an athlete that is relevant to competition . Track and field athletes in classes T42 - T47 and F42 - F46 belong to the “amputees and equals” . Low class numbers indicate a higher level of impairment than high class numbers.

  • T43: Starting class for running and jumping disciplines in athletics, in which leg functions are particularly important,
  • F43: Starting class for technical disciplines in athletics, in which the arm functions are particularly important (except for high jump),
  • it is started upright.
