TD1

TD1 , Turkish-German television in Berlin , was a Berlin television program. The station, founded in 1985 by Atalay Özcakir as a local broadcaster , was the very first German-Turkish television broadcaster and could be received nationwide via satellite until 2007 .

The organizer was the TD1 Turkish-German speaking cable TV company . In 2005 Dursun Yigit became managing director. TD1 was approved for nationwide broadcasting via satellite since March 23, 2005. The station, which broadcasts in German and Turkish, already reached an average of 37 percent of the population of Turkish origin as a local station in the Berlin mixed channel and later in the city's cable network and thus regularly occupied the top places in this population group in terms of audience share. The station's 20th anniversary was celebrated with a ceremony in the Berlin City Hall . Broadcasting was discontinued in 2007.
