Lilian Faschinger

Lilian Faschinger (born April 29, 1950 in Tschöran near Bodensdorf , Carinthia ) is an Austrian writer and literary translator .

Life

Lilian Faschinger, b. as Lilian Mitterer, studied English and history from 1969 to 1975 at the Karl-Franzens University in Graz , where she worked as a contract assistant and lecturer at the Institute for English Studies until 1992. In 1979 she received her doctorate in English literature . She has been working as a writer and literary translator since 1992. She received international attention with her novel Magdalena Sünderin , which was published in 1995 and has been translated into 17 languages. She lives in Vienna .
