The TINETZ-Alto Networks GmbH is the biggest distribution network operator for electricity in Tirol . It is a 100% subsidiary of TIWAG-Tiroler Wasserkraft AG and has its headquarters in Thaur . Other regional bases are spread across Tyrol. The company was called TIWAG-Netz AG until 2013, then TINETZ-Stromnetz Tirol AG until 2015.

With around 520 employees, over 11,000 km of line length, 45 substations and over 4,000 transformer stations, TINETZ supplies the population and economy as well as most of the electricity companies in Tyrol with electrical energy with over 216,000 tapping points.

tasks

TINETZ guarantees the operation, maintenance and expansion of the power grid in Tyrol. In addition to providing sufficient network capacities, the electricity network must also be continuously expanded to accommodate feed-ins from renewable energy sources (mainly hydropower , photovoltaics ) and new technologies (so-called intelligent meters, electromobility, etc.) must be integrated into the network operation.

For the use of the TINETZ power grid and the related ancillary services, the regulatory authority decrees “appropriate system usage fees” (§ 48 ElWOG 2010, § 51 ElWOG 2010).
