TIP Trailer Services is a leasing company headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands . The company acts as a manufacturer-independent lessor and leasing provider for trailers and swap bodies and has its own workshops. TIP has a fleet of around 70,000 semi-trailers and has 102 locations in 17 European countries and Canada.

The company's roots lie in Container Leasing, Inc, which was founded in Philadelphia in 1957 . Container Leasing specializes in the rental of containers and semi-trailers for road haulage. In 1966 the company was renamed Transport Pool. From 1971 shares of the company were traded on the NASDAQ , but took place four years later, in 1975, by the Gelco Corporation from Minneapolis. Another change of name took place in 1976 when the name Transport International Pool Inc. (TIP) was adopted. After a series of takeovers, as a result of which the European business was spun off from the US business activities, the European TIP became a subsidiary of GE Capital . From 2013 TIP was a subsidiary of the Chinese HNA Group . HNA sold its shares in 2018 to the investment company I Squared Capital .
