TI Extended BASIC
TI Extended BASIC is a dialect of the BASIC programming language for the TI-99/4 and TI-99 / 4A home computers from Texas Instruments .
Texas Instruments produced a cartridge for this which expanded the number of TI-BASIC programming commands. Sprites could be easily created and automatically moved across the screen with one command. With the command CALL subroutines could be called, the user had access to an extended memory and several commands could be placed in one line with the string :: . The execution speed has also been improved compared to the TI BASIC integrated in the computer.
As the successor to the TI Extended BASIC, the Triton company launched the Super Extended Basic Cartridge.
Command set TI Extended BASIC
Compared to the TI BASIC, the TI Extended BASIC has 35 additional commands, functions, subroutines and operators. The extended instruction set makes it easier to program sprites and bitmap graphics. It also enables structured programming and the integration of subroutines in machine language .
ACCEPT | COINC | INIT | MAX | ON BREAK | PEEK | SPRITE |
AND | DELSPRITE | LINK | MERGE | ON ERROR | POSITION | SUB |
CALL ERROR | DISPLAY ... USING | LOAD | MIN | ON WARNING | PRINT ... USING | SUBEND |
CALL SAY | DISTANCE | LOCATE | MOTION | OR | SIZE | SUBEXIT |
CHARPAT | IMAGE | MAGNIFY | NOT | PATTERN | SPGET | XOR |
Speech generator
If the computer was connected to the TI Speech Synthesizer, you could easily generate English speech output with the TI Extended BASIC.
