The TRIGOS Prize is an Austrian award for responsible business.

The TRIGOS has been awarded both nationally and regionally since 2004. By 2019, around 2,100 companies had submitted pioneering projects and around 270 were awarded. In the years it was awarded, the award has become the most important CSR award in Austria. The supporting organizations of TRIGOS 2019 are Caritas , the Austrian Red Cross , the environmental umbrella organization , the Federation of Industry , the Chamber of Commerce , and respACT - austrian business council for sustainable development.

Surname

The sustainability triangle with the economic, ecological and social side should flow into the naming and so the decision was made on the made-up word Trigos. Tri stands for "three" and thus also for the three sides of the sustainability triangle.

Categories

In 2019 the TRIGOS will be awarded in 6 categories:

  • Exemplary projects
  • Employee initiatives
  • International commitment
  • Regional value creation
  • Social Innovation & Future Challenges
  • Climate protection

Special Price

From 2007 to 2011, in addition to the categories listed above, a special prize was awarded for important social issues. Those were:

  • 2007: Equal Opportunities in the 21st Century
  • 2008: Migration and Integration
  • 2009: Equal opportunities for women and men
  • 2010: Measures against poverty and social disadvantage
  • 2011: volunteering

Since 2018, an honorary award has been given to an international personality with outstanding commitment to responsibility and sustainability:

  • 2018: Bas by Abel (Fairphone)
  • 2019: Antje von Dewitz (VAUDE)
