TSG Bayreuth

The TSG Bayreuth e. V. (Tanzsportgemeinschaft Bayreuth) is a dance sport club in Bayreuth . The club was founded in 1989 as TSA Bayreuth at the Bayreuth dance school Jahn. It has existed as a non-profit organization under the name TSG Bayreuth since 1998.

The club has several single pairs and currently a Latin formation .

Standard formation

The A-Team of TSG Bayreuth initially danced to changing topics in the Oberliga Süd Standard and the Regional League South Standard:

  • A Chorus Line (1993/1994 and 1994/1995)
  • Movies (1995/1996)
  • Madonna (1996/1997)
  • Snow White (1997/1998 and 1998/1999)
  • West Side Story (1999/2000 to 2001/2002)
  • Magic of Love (2002/2003 and 2003/2004)
  • Chicago (2004/2005 and 2005/2006)
  • Queen (2006/2007 and 2007/2008)

In the 2003/2004 season, the team took second place in the Regionalliga Süd Standard with the musical theme “Magic of Love”. In the subsequent promotion tournament, the team took 3rd place, but moved up to the 2nd Bundesliga Standard for the next season after the A-Team of TSC Schwarz-Gold Göttingen after relegation from the 1st Bundesliga in the 2nd Bundesliga was not started.

In the 2nd Bundesliga, the team started with the new musical theme “Chicago”, which was danced over two seasons. For the 2006/2007 season the A-Team showed a choreography to the music of Queen, with which it started again in 2007/2008. In 2008 the team was relegated to the Regionalliga Süd Standard as the penultimate of the 2nd Bundesliga.

In the 2005/2006 season, TSG Bayreuth also started with a B-Team in the Regionalliga Süd Standard. The musical theme was "Chicago".

Latin formation

The Latin formation of TSG Bayreuth dances on changing topics mainly in the Oberliga Süd Latin. In the 2004/2005 season, the first place in the South Latin Oberliga was promoted to the South Latin Regionalliga, but in the 2005/2006 season the team was relegated to the South Oberliga. In the 2008/2009 season, the team remained unbeaten in the major league and rose again to the regional league South Latin.

  • Crazy in Latin (2007/2008 and 2008/2009 (Oberliga))

In the seasons 2000/2001, 2001/2002 ("New York, New York") and 2002/2003 ("Power and Glory"), TSG Bayreuth also started with a B team in the South Latin regional league.

The coaches of the Latin formation are Helmut Jahn and Thomas Leupold.
