TST experimental aircraft

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The TST experimental aircraft was a test vehicle for the Transonic Airplane (TST) developed by Dornier . It was the A1 series aircraft of the Alpha Jet developed and built by Dornier and Dassault , which was converted with the Transonic Wing in 1980 and tested together with the Wehrtechnischen Dienststelle 61 ( WTD 61 ) until 1982.

The experimental program was carried out on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Defense ( BMVg ) and included extensive calculations and wind tunnel tests at Dornier before the first flight took place on December 12, 1980.

This development, or the results and findings from it, were also incorporated into the drafts of transonic wings at Airbus and also in the Do 728 / Do 928 projects .
