The TSV Güntersleben is a sports club from the Lower Franconian town Güntersleben . The club was originally founded as a gymnastics club. Today the club has additional departments for football, endurance sports, karate, athletics, tennis, table tennis, volleyball and dance sports.

history

The club was founded in 1905 under the name Turngemeinde Güntersleben . The purpose of the association was the "physical and mental training of young people in Güntersleben through gymnastics, singing and lectures". In 1920 a theater group was added. After the end of the Second World War, the gymnastics community and the football club founded in 1928 merged to form TSV Güntersleben. The theater department was re-established in 1946, and a table tennis department was added in 1947.

The football department celebrated its greatest sporting success in the mid-1970s. In the 1975/76 season, the club rose as a district league champion in the Landesliga Bayern Nord , which they belonged to for two seasons. In the same year, the Lower Franconian Cup winner qualified for the DFB Cup . In the first main round they lost to the second division relegated from the Württemberg second division SSV Reutlingen 05 1: 2 after extra time.
