The TTC Bern was founded in 1952 and, with around 120 members, is one of the largest table tennis clubs in Switzerland . From 1959 to 1988 the TTC Bern always provided at least one team in the NLA, B or C. The high point of this time was winning the Swiss championship title in 1969 among the women. There were also numerous Swiss championship titles at national junior championships. After the withdrawal of all teams in the fateful year of 1988, the continued existence of the TTC Bern was often on a knife's edge and the club shrank to a small club with just 3 teams. Only in 2009 with the appointment of today's President Ruth Hubl did the club recover and return to its old strength. In the 2016/17 season, the TTC Bern provides 13 men, women and junior teams, with the first women team, after being promoted to National League B in 2015/16, the club's current flagship.

The TTC Bern focuses primarily on popular sport. With its hall in Bern-Bümpliz, it offers the opportunity to train five times a week and offers ideal training conditions for ambitious players up to the sprightly senior.
