TUBİM

TUBİM ( Türkiye Uyuşturucu ve Uyuşturucu Bağımlılığı İzleme Merkezi ) is the "Monitoring Center for Drugs and Drug Addiction of Turkey". The agency issues an annual drug report and also has an advisory role. It is affiliated with the Ministry of the Interior and part of the Smuggling and Organized Crime Department of the Turkish Police . Its counterpart in Europe is the EMCDDA .

history

The forerunner of the organization was founded in 1997 by a Council of Ministers decision. The title read: "Supreme Council for the Prosecution and Control of the Combating of Drug Abuse" ( Uyuşturucu Madde Kullanımı ile Mücadele Takip ve Yönlendirme Üst Kurulu ). A corresponding subordinate council stood by its side. In 2000 the government applied for membership in the EMCDDA. The corresponding agreement was signed in October 2007 between the European Union and Turkey . The name was changed to its current name in October 2008.
