Taar (also Taar ) is the heroic figure of the eponymous French Fantasy - comic series in 1976 by the author Claude Moliterni and draftsman Jaime Brocal Remohí was created.

Origin and characters

After Brocal created the fantasy hero Kronan (based on Conan ) in the early 1970s , he designed the now blonde hero Taar in 1976 in collaboration with Moliterni. This barbaric fighter is very reminiscent of the character He-Man developed later (at the beginning of the 80s) by Mattel (in his early barbaric form, since a Conan figure series was originally planned).

Recurring characters

  • Taar - son of Kroon, the rebel, new leader and protector of Auphiria after the death of his father
  • Princess Khanala - daughter of King Uist, the wise, is rescued by Taar from the hands of the magician Kronok and from then on experiences various adventures with him
  • Stabbar - old sage from Taar's tribe, after the death of Taar's father he is now responsible for his upbringing and gives Taar several tasks to be solved

Publications

Overall, the series includes thirteen volumes, of which twelve in the Dargaud publishing house as a hardcover - albums have been released. Brocal stopped working on the series in 1988 because he disagreed with Dargaud's company policy. Brocal began one last volume in 1989, but it was not finished until 1998 and published in Spanish in the Fantasia Heroica forum . Ten volumes were in Germany in the series The big Phantastic-Comics published (along with other shows such as Storm and Warlord ), which as a softcover - albums from 1980 to 1987 in the Delta publishing company in Stuttgart in sales of Ehapa publisher appeared.

In addition to the translation into German, the series was also translated into Flemish (Dargaud / Oberon), Spanish (13 volumes with a new cover on Fantasia Heroica forum), Portuguese (6 volumes on Meribérica), English (1 volume on Gowarsons Comics), Hindi (2 Volumes at Gowarsons Comics / Madhumuskn Comics / Trishul Comics and later more at OUP India) and translated into Indonesian (Indira / Komik Lebar).
