The Egyptian tourism center Taba Heights is located on the Sinai peninsula in the four-country corner of Egypt , Israel , Jordan and Saudi Arabia on the Gulf of Aqaba . The closest cities on Egyptian soil are Taba (10 km) and Nuweiba (50 km). The large holiday resort of Eilat in Israel is only 17 km away, Aqaba in Jordan about 25 km.

The planned city consists of the hotels Marriott, Hyatt, Sofitel, El Wekala and the former Intercontinental Hotel. There are also a number of restaurants, shops and apartments for hotel workers, as well as a golf course.

Taba Heights, like its counterpart el-Guna (Egypt's noble town) (near Hurghada ), is operated by the Egyptian Orascom group . Taba Heights is still under construction, which has stalled a bit due to security issues. In 2004, for example, the Hilton Hotel in the nearby border town of Taba fell victim to an explosives attack.
