Purse-string seam

The purse -string suture (also known as Tb suture ) is a surgical suture technique in which a loop of thread is placed around an artificial or natural opening.

It is, for example, at a appendectomy used to the stump of the appendix after stopping the inflamed organ in the appendix to sink. This seam is then usually secured by a Z-seam placed over it . A purse-string suture is often temporarily placed in the event of an incident ( prolapse ) of internal organs.
