The Tabaksweiher (also: Tabaksmühlenweiher) is a pond in Saarbrücken - Sankt Arnual .
location
The pond is located in the Sankt Arnual district at the beginning of a rural area with allotment gardens and paddocks.
history
The pond was created around 1600 in its present form. It emerged from the lowest pond of what were once two ponds. In 1831 the tobacco mill , in which snuff was produced until 1860, was built. The building then served as a residential building and since 1920 as a restaurant.
Freetime activities
The pond can be hiked around, the short north-eastern part is occupied by the terrace of the Tabaksmühle restaurant .
