Tabormill

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Tabormühle is a mill located on the Schmida near Frauendorf an der Schmida in Lower Austria .

The mill is located north of the village just west of the road between Sitzendorf and Frauendorf. It was first mentioned in 1665. The free-standing, two-storey building is an irregular, hook-shaped complex, the core of which goes back to at least the 17th century. The south and east sides in particular date from this time, but today's appearance is shaped by renovations over the past few decades. As can be seen in the Franciscan cadastre, the mill wheel was operated by both the Schmida and the Schleinzbach Canal. The mill was later operated electrically and stopped in the late 20th century. There is currently a fruit distillery in the mill.
