Tadeu Coelho

Tadeu Coelho is a Brazilian flautist and music teacher.

Coelho had lessons in his home country with Spartacco Rossi , João Dias Carrasqueira and Jean Noel Sagaard . His teachers also included Thomas Nyfenger , Andrew Lolya and Arthur Ephross . He received his PhD from the Manhattan School of Music as a student of Julius Baker and Keith Underwood . From 1992 to 1997 he taught flute as an assistant professor at the University of New Mexico and from 1997 to 2002 as an associate professor at the University of Iowa , since then he has been a professor at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. He worked as a visiting professor at the Ino Mirkovich Music Academy in Croatia.

In 1992 Coelho made his debut as a soloist in the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall . He made a name for himself as an interpreter of new music, commissioned compositions and played world premieres and recordings of compositions by Steven Block , João Dias Carrasqueiras , Margaret Cornils , Michael Eckerts , Eduardo Gamboas , Lawrence Fritts , Joaquin Gutierrez-Heras , Richard Hermanns , Ronald Rosemans , Ruth Schönthals , Amaral Vieiras , Michael Weinsteins and others. He published the complete works of Pattápio Silva and recorded compositions by Thomas Delio for §D Classics .
