University of New Mexico
The University of New Mexico (UNM) is a public university in Albuquerque in the US state of New Mexico . In addition to the main campus in Albuquerque, the college has branch offices in Gallup , Los Alamos , Taos and Valencia Counties . The university was founded in 1889. In 2005 there were 24,092 students enrolled at the university.
Sports
The UNM sports team are the Lobos . The university is a member of the Mountain West Conference . The basketball team, together with the American football team, is the sporting figurehead of the university. It takes place in one of the most famous and traditional college arenas in the USA called "The Pit".
