Tadeusz Wilczak

Tadeusz Wilczak (born November 6, 1908 in Tomaszów Mazowiecki , † May 30, 1956 in Warsaw ) was a Polish conductor.

Wilczak studied at the Warsaw Conservatory with Walerian Bierdiajew until 1936 and then became his assistant. Until the Second World War he conducted various Warsaw Symphony Orchestras and concerts on the Polish Radio. Among other things, he was the conductor at the premiere of Witold Lutosławski's Lacrimosa in 1938 . During the war he conducted concerts on behalf of the Central Welfare Council ( Rada Główna Opiekuńcza ). 1948-49 he was conductor at the Silesian Opera in Grodny. Between 1949 and 1953 he conducted the Krakow and Warsaw Philharmonic, the Bydgoszcz Symphony Orchestra and the Łódź Philharmonic. From 1953 he was a conductor at the Warsaw Opera.
