Teaching day

The Teaching Day is an internal university nationwide event on the subject of university didactics , stimulated by the Quality Pact for Teaching QPL of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research .

Since the beginning of the Teaching Quality Pact in 2010, participating universities have also been using the Teaching Day event format to convey the knowledge gained in funded projects and to present (interim) results or project progress. The Teaching Quality Pact was announced on May 17, 2010 at the Germany-wide Bologna Conference organized by Federal Minister of Education Annette Schavan : A funding program for German universities through which the federal government will provide an additional two billion euros by 2020 to improve the quality of teaching and study conditions. "The objectives of the program are better staffing at universities, their support in the qualification and further qualification of their staff as well as the safeguarding and further development of high-quality university teaching."

Teaching Day (selection)

  • Stuttgart: The first Baden-Württemberg Apprenticeship Day took place on March 5, 2015 .
  • Munich
  • Augsburg: Since 2014, a Bavarian Day of Teaching in Medicine has been held in changing Bavarian cities in the field of medicine .
  • Berlin: Teaching Day has been taking place at the TU Berlin since 2013. Initiated by the Vice President for Studies and Teaching, Prof. Dr. Hans-Ulrich Heiß, the day of teaching has since been organized by various actors from the field of studies and teaching, including actors from QPL sub-projects funded at the TU. The day of teaching at the TU Berlin deals with changing key topics "on cultural change and improving the quality of teaching". For example, the online teaching team of the Central Institution for Continuing Education and Cooperation (ZEWK) of the TU Berlin organized a day of teaching on the subject of game-based teaching and learning in the university on November 20, 2018. The online teaching team of the ZEWK publishes live recordings and reports on the teaching day on the practice blog: Digital teaching and e-learning at the TU Berlin.
