The day laborer's house in Wörrstadt was built around 1750 as a half-timbered house . It was rebuilt in the middle of the 19th century; the ailing half-timbered outer walls were replaced by new walls. This structural version has been preserved almost unchanged.

The day laborer's house was inhabited until 1983, after which it was saved from demolition and decay on the initiative of the cultural group and placed under monument protection in 1992. In 1993 the day laborer's house was bought by Franz Schmand. Now the restoration in terms of monument protection began, which was completed in 1997.

The type and size of the house corresponds to a type of house that used to be widespread, but has now almost disappeared, inhabited and characterized by simple people who earned their living as craftsmen or day laborers . Layers of paint and plaster up to the time it was built, building materials, old carpenter's marks and an old hearth provide a glimpse into the history of this house. The house is open to visitors every year on the day of the open monument .
