The term vigil can mean:
- the day shift , a regularly agreed working 6-18 indicator
- a security guard during the day to ensure extra peace or security
- the morning wake-up call to the military
- a song by the Austrian songwriter Wolfgang Ambros, see Tagwache (song)
- the prelude to the Lucerne Carnival
