The Tahara House in Olsztyn (Polish: Olsztyn ), today's capital of the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , was built between 1911 and 1913 by the Olsztyn Jewish community. The former Tahara house is located on Seestrasse (today ul. Zyndrama z Maszkowic). The Jewish cemetery was leveled in the 1960s.

history

The building was constructed from 1911 to 1913 according to plans by the Allenstein-born architect Erich Mendelsohn . The building served as an archive building for the city of Olsztyn after the Second World War . In 2008, the restoration of the building began, which was to be used by the Borussia Foundation as an “archive of living remembrance” . The opening took place on March 21, 2013, exactly on the architect's 126th birthday.
