Takechi no Kurohito
Takechi no Kurohito ( Japanese 高市 黒 人 ; dates unknown) was a Japanese poet of the late 7th century. According to the Man'yōshū, Takechi was part of the entourage of the Jitō Tennō during an imperial visit around 702 . His rank was that of a Muraji , a hereditary tribal title ( Kabane ).
Little more is known about the living conditions of Takechi no Kurohitos than that he was courtier to Empress Jitō (690–697) and Emperor Mommu (697–707). The Waka -author is next Kakinomoto no Hitomaro an early representative of the Japanese tradition of travel poetry. Some of his poems were included in the Man'yōshū collection.
