KK Take Shobō ( Japanese 株式会社竹 書房 Kabushiki-gaisha Take Shobō , also Takeshobō , English Takeshobo Co., Ltd. ) is a Japanese publisher that mainly publishes magazines for games like Mah-Jongg and Pachinko . The program also includes Yonkoma manga magazines, short stories and erotic literature.

history

The publishing house was founded in October 1972 by Kyōichirō Noguchi ( 野 口 恭 一郎 ). The first magazine from the founding of the publishing house in 1972 was Kindai Mājan , aimed at Mah-Jongg players , which mainly contains articles about the game. But soon it also ran manga series on the same topic, which belong to the emerging independent Mah-Jongg genre . In 1977 the first offshoot was the pure Mah Jongg manga magazine Kindai Mājan Original . It was followed by the similar magazines Kindai Mājan Bessatsu and Kindai Mājan Gold and other magazine series, especially on Pachinko.

The magazines devoted to Mah-Jongg sold 180,000 to 200,000 times a month in the mid-1990s. Since then, manga magazine sales have plummeted.
