Tactics (handball)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The tactic is a component in handball . A distinction is made between attack and defense tactics. With suitable attack tactics, an attempt is made to use one's strengths optimally or to use opposing weaknesses for oneself. The tactical considerations of the defense aim to limit the opponent's strengths.

A distinction is made between individual, group and team tactics in both attack and defense. The tactical approach of a single player is called individual tactic. In the group tactical area, several players (two to four players) are involved in trading. Team tactics include the behavior of the entire team.

Defense formations

There are different formations with which one tries to get the enemy attack under control.

A standard formation is the 6-0 defense . All defenders are right on the six-meter circle. Each player is responsible for a specific area (area coverage). In addition, the players must help each other out to avoid a goal.

Another formation is the 5: 1 defense. One player stands in front of all the others who are standing by the circle. This player tries to disturb the opponent's build-up of the game and, if necessary, intercept a pass and thus capture the ball.

Man coverage

Man covering is often played against good back shooters or players who determine the game . However, this can be canceled, for example, by a teammate through a ban . However, at the end of the game, if one team still has to score a goal, open cover can be played in order to quickly gain possession of the ball and throw a goal.

attack

In the attack you try to surprise the opposing defense. This can be achieved with various tactics:

  1. with crosses
  2. with a transition
  3. Prepare distance throws
  4. with a lock

When crossing, two attackers change their positions. This can be used to prepare distance throws or it can simply confuse the opponent so that you get into a good throwing situation. In the case of a transition, for example, the outside player walks in and the game is played with two circles . As a result, the defense in the middle has to cover two players. If you then prepare a distance throw, the defense must step out and you can play to one of the circle runners. To prepare for a throw from distance, a player runs from a smaller distance towards the circle and receives the pass from another player. The distance shooter can then throw the ball over the block or play to the circle runner or to another free player. When you are suspended, you interrupt the path of a defender in order to have your own advantage in attack.
