The Ampega Asset Management GmbH (until January 2019 Talanx Asset Management ), based in Cologne, is a subsidiary of Talanx , the third largest insurance group of Germany. Ampega is responsible for asset management in the Talanx Group. The company was formed in autumn 2006 from the financial services divisions of the two insurance groups Talanx and Gerling and operated under the name AmpegaGerling until 2011 . According to its own information, the company manages an investment portfolio (market values) of over 154 billion euros (as of July 2020). Ampega employs around 370 people at the company's headquarters in the Rheinhallen in Cologne.

structure

The group division consists of three independent but closely cooperating companies:

  • The Ampega Management GmbH is responsible for the investments of the Talanx Group.
  • The Ampega Investment GmbH operates the fund business with private and institutional investors. More than 100 mutual and special funds are offered.
  • The Talanx Immobilien Management GmbH takes care of the real estate investments of the Talanx Group and the construction financing from institutional investors.

In autumn 2010, today's Ampega took a 25.1% stake in C-Quadrat Investment GmbH in Vienna. This stake was sold to Cubic in January 2016.

In December 2014, Ampega took a 45% stake in Caplantic GmbH. The aim is to develop caplantic GmbH into a leading provider in the field of alternative asset classes.

In July 2018, Talanx acquired 37.5% of the shares in the German fintech start-up Elinvar from Berlin.
