Tallowroe
The small megalithic complex of Tallowroe is located southwest of Athenry in the townland of Tallowroe ( Irish An Talamh Rua , "the red earth") and is shown on the OS map as a dolmen and stone circle . It is located south of the River Clarin on the west side of the raised bushland in County Galway , Ireland .
There is no evidence of a cairn or tumulus . The north-west-south-east oriented system, which is probably a boulder burial , consists of a non-circular capstone with a length of 1.8 m, 1.5 m wide and 0.4 m thick, the one at a height of 0.25 m above the present one Ground on each side is supported by a single boulder. Two large orthostats from a possible stone circle are located 10 m to the southwest.
