Tambow red cattle

The Tambower Red Cattle ( Russian : Kpacнaя тaмбoвcкaя , Krasnaja tambowskaja ) is a breed of cattle from Russia .

Breeding history

In the middle of the 19th century, the Tambow Red Cattle were created in the Tambow Oblast by crossing the local Tambow Landrace with Tyrolean gray cattle . Even South Devon and Simmental cattle were bred. Following the recommendations of Prof. MM Pridorogins, from 1911 the crossing products were only crossed with one another. Scheduled breeding began in 1924, especially in the Kirsanow breeding station . In 1948 the breed was officially recognized.
