Tango fashion ( La Gazette du Bon Ton 1914)

The Tango Fashion was a fashion style of the 1910s, which along with the spread of tango took place in Europe-wide distribution.

The tango dress was especially specific for fashion : mostly with a V-neck, draped, ankle-length skirt with a high front or side cut. As an accessory , a heron feather ( aigrette ) was placed on the turban or in the hair . The women wore pumps with instep clasps as tango shoes.

Fashion houses particularly associated with tango fashion include Paul Poiret and Jeanne Paquin in Paris (the latter even opened a branch in Buenos Aires ) and Redfern & Sons in London.
