The Romanshorn tank farm is a former warehouse for industrial alcohol in the small town of Romanshorn in Thurgau . Its halls are under monument protection . It now houses, among other things, the autobau adventure world .

history

The Romanshorn tank farm was built around 1880. It was used by the Federal Customs Administration as a warehouse for industrial alcohol. With the fall of the monopoly of the Swiss Confederation in 1996, the area near Lake Constance was no longer needed and became the property of the Romanshorn municipality.

Car manufacturing

Fredy A. Lienhard , businessman and racing driver from Eastern Switzerland, was also looking for a suitable space in which to present his vehicle collection to a broad public. After renovating the listed halls, the exhibition was opened in May 2009.

The Autobau AG created the Autobau Erlebniswelt and the Autobau Factory on the site.

The Autobau Erlebniswelt shows around 120 vehicles from national and international motor racing as well as street and super sports cars. The adventure world houses the collection of various automobiles in historical and listed industrial halls. Independent companies from the automotive industry work in the Autobau Factory .

In addition to the exhibition, the adventure world also offers various event rooms that can be rented.
