The Tantangara Dam was built as a dam of the Snowy Mountains System in New South Wales , Australia and forms the Tantangara Reservoir .

The Tantangara Dam was built between 1958 and 1960 as a heavyweight dam with a height of 45 meters and a length of 216 meters. The dam dams the Murrumbidgee River , which merged with Gurrangorambla Creek 6 kilometers after its source in Kosciuszko National Park .
