tanznetz.de is a German-language internet portal for professional stage dance . It provides an overview of the development of the international dance world, publishes news, reviews, topics and dates every day and serves as a guide to dance institutions, dance ensembles , dance professionals, dance journals and dance websites worldwide.

history

tanznetz.de was founded in 1996 by Nina Hümpel , Florian Borchert, Klaus Kieser, Katja Schneider and Simone Schulte. The portal has been run by Hümpel and Borchert alone since 1998. Since February 2007 tanznetz-Verlag has also been publishing accesstodance.de , a regional dance portal for Bavaria. In 2014, Nina Hümpel was awarded the recognition prize of the German Dance Prize for her work as the founder and publisher of tanznetz.de .

Editing and financing

tanznetz.de is an internet platform of dance professionals who make their contributions to this portal on a voluntary basis. Behind this is the motivation to strengthen dance in German-speaking countries, to disseminate and make available information and knowledge on the topic of dance nationwide, and to know that one's own material is meaningfully archived and easy to find. The reviews on tanznetz.de wrote or write critics such as Volkmar Draeger, Marieluise Jeitschko, Horst Koegler , Angela Reinhardt, Jochen Schmidt , Katja Schneider u. a. The dance photographer Gert Weigelt has his own photo column at tanznetz.de under the name weigelt web .

Content orientation and structure

tanznetz.de is aimed at those interested in dance, dancers, choreographers and educators. The portal contains meetings, interviews, blogs and reports as well as overviews of dates, information and collections of links on all areas of professional stage dance. Presentation dates, auditions, festivals, workshops, etc. can be entered by the organizers free of charge.

The portal sends a weekly newsletter with current dance information to over 10,000 registered users.

Since 2009, the tanznetz.tv section has also been available on tanznetz.de, which archives and presents short films and documentaries about dance.
