Tarkan is the cartoon character in the comic series of the same name by Sezgin Burak .

The creation of the figure

While Burak was working at Studio D'Ami in Milan in 1965 , he invented the character El Cougar and also co- drew the character Colosso . During this work he planned to draw a Turkish cartoon character and began to read about the Huns , who according to the Turkish official history thesis are the original Turks, as well as about their legendary leader Attila . In the 1940s, two series of comics about Attila were published in Turkish children's magazines, drawn by Şahap Ayhan and Ayhan Erer . Tarkan was actually a character who originally appeared on these series. Burak has continued to work on this figure and portrays it as a warrior and ambassador, who mediates communication between different peoples in the vast Huns with his faithful wolf.
