Pocket work
A bag factory is a machine for stamping of coins .
In the late Middle Ages , more and more machines were used to mint coins . A new embossing process was developed in the middle of the 16th century: roller embossing .
The pocket mechanism represents a further development of this . Compared to the roller embossing mechanism, it was significantly smaller and could be operated with the strength of a man. Pocket embossing only a respective upper and a lower were stamp installed, the surface of roller-shaped by reciprocating the interposition of Zain or Schrötling shaped. The main improvement was that if a single punch was damaged, the entire roller with several punches was not lost. In addition, a more precise meeting of the stamps was made possible. A disadvantage was that the coins were seldom completely round or flat.
