Tasos Bougas ( Greek Τάσος Μπουγάς ), in other spellings also Tassos Bougas , Tasos Bugas (see Greeklish ) (* 1943 in Pyrgos in the Peloponnese ) is a Greek singer. He is also known by his nickname Planitarchis (world ruler ).

Tasos Bougas was born in 1943 in the city of Pyrgos in the Peloponnese. He started singing as a child. After winning a casting, he moved to Athens when he was 16 . However, he had to interrupt his career due to military service, which he performed in Cyprus, among other places . Bougas grew in popularity in the 1970s, but its greatest successes came in the late 1980s and 1990s.

Bougas' style is characterized by laiki music, tsifteteli and strongly oriental sounds. A frequent accompanying instrument is the bouzouki .
