Suspect charge number
The suspect burden number (TVBZ) - until 1983 crime burden number (KBZ) - is a frequency number in criminology . It denotes the number of suspects identified by the police , calculated for 100,000 inhabitants of the corresponding proportion of the population, excluding children under eight years of age, for a certain year (reference date January 1).
The TVBZ shows which population groups (e.g. age groups) are more or less frequently suspected.
At the turn of the year 2008/2009, the recording and calculation method was changed so that a comparison with figures from previous years is no longer useful. In Germany in 2009, the total TVBZ of Germans (excluding children under eight years of age) was 2,477. For adults (over 21 years) the TVBZ was 2,101, for adolescents (18 to 21 years) 7,042, for adolescents (14 to 18 years) 6,853 and for children (under 14 years) 1,801. In 2015, the total TVBZ of Germans (excluding children under eight years of age) was 2,125. In the adult (over 21 years) TVBZ was 1937, when the adolescents (18 to 21 years) 5797, on young people (14 to 18 years) and 4604 in children (under 14 years) 1108.
No TVBZ is calculated for non-German suspects at the federal level, as the population statistics do not include tourists, travelers, cross-border commuters, foreigners staying illegally in Germany, stationing forces and similar persons who are not counted among the residents. In 2009 a total of 1,789,991 German and 448,544 non-German suspects were counted (excluding violations of the law on foreign nationals); in 2015 there were 1,456,078 German and 555,820 non-German suspects. Individual federal states such as B. Berlin also show TBVZ for those non-Germans who lived in the federal state at the time of the offense , i. H. excluding those living in other federal states or abroad, tourists and travelers and illegally staying persons (as well as all violations of immigration law, regardless of their place of residence).
