Taubach (Ilm)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Taubach is the smallest of the three source brooks of the Ilm in the Thuringian Forest near Ilmenau . It's almost four kilometers long.

The Taubach rises from the Ilmbrunnen on the eastern slope of the Großer Finsterberg at an altitude of about 800 meters . It continues to flow in an easterly direction, past Wolfsgrube and Leutelstal, where its valley opens up into a meadow landscape. In the lower Taubach valley lies the forest pool Stützerbach , below which the Taubach merges with Freibach and Lengwitz to form the Ilm.
