Tausche Leben or Tausche Familie is an Austrian documentary soap that was broadcast on ATV . It is the Austrian version of the German documentary soap Frauentausch , but has small differences to the German edition. The Austrian broadcast differs from the German broadcast, among other things, in that the Austrian broadcast allows one additional person to be exchanged per family. Tausche Leben had an average market share of twelve percent since it started broadcasting.

In Tausche Leben , there were two families per broadcast, from which a maximum of two people would swap households. The television broadcast described how the swap persons are coping with the new household. During the exchange phase, each family member kept a video diary in which they expressed their different thoughts, feelings and impressions.
