Taxis (surgery)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In surgery, taxis is the manual repositioning of the contents of the hernia in external hernias . The contents of the hernia are pushed back into the abdominal cavity with a careful massage . In contrast to surgical hernia treatment, the taxis does not remove the cause of the disease, but is sometimes practiced by a doctor in emergency care. There is a risk of repositioning en bloc , i.e. H. the contents of the hernia, together with a constricting hernia ring, are shifted back into the abdominal cavity, which removes the external appearance of the hernia, but does not remove an entrapment, but rather disguises it.
