Tayla Jones (* 1996 in Yass , New South Wales ) is an Australian enduro athlete and motocross driver and has been a member of the Australian women's national team at the International Six Day Race on several occasions .

Career

Tayla Jones started riding a motorcycle at the age of four.

In 2007 Tayla Jones was in the NSW Junior Championship in the 65 cm³ class of 11 to 13 year olds fourth and in the 85 cm³ two-stroke / 150 cm³ four-stroke class of nine to twelve year olds 21. At the age of twelve, Tayla Jones was 2008 in Australian enduro youth competition for girls "Girls on Gas" in New South Wales third. In 2009 she successfully competed in motocross in the Junior Lites Girls series in the Australian Yamaha MX Cross Cup. In the final ranking she was second behind Meghan Rutledge .

In 2010 she was third in her class in the Australian Junior Motocross Championship. At the junior long-distance championship she was first in the 85 cm³ two-stroke / 150 cm³ four-stroke class and third in the 100-150 cm³ two-stroke / 200-250 cm³ four-stroke class. In the Motocross Championship of New South Wales she was second overall in the Female Lites class and third in the 85 cc two-stroke / 150 cc four-stroke class. In the 14- to 16-year-old class, she was tenth. She also won the regional Girls on Gas competition in New South Wales and qualified for the national final, in which she finished third.

In 2011 Tayla Jones won the Australian Women's Motocross Championship in the Junior Girls 85 cm³ 2T / 150 cm³ 4T 12-16 year class and came second in the Junior Girls Lite Support class. In the national junior motocross championship she won in the 85 cm³ 2T class for 12-16 years and came second in the Female Lites class. In the off-road championship of New South Wales she won three runs in the Junior Girls class and was fifth overall.

In 2012 Tayla Jones won the East Coast MX Series. In the Australian Enduro Championship Australian Off-Road Series she was fourth. In September Tayla Jones was a member of the Australian women's national team at the 87th International Six Days in Saxony. She finished the race in 13th place and was third with the team.

As a member of the women's national team at the Six Days, she won the Women's Trophy six times in a row between 2013 and 2018.
