Te Aupōuri

The Te Aupōuri or Te Aupouri are the northernmost tribal group ( iwi ) of the Māori of New Zealand . Their tribal area is the Aupōuri Peninsula , north of Kaitaia in the Northland region .

In the 2003 census, 8,200 New Zealand residents identified themselves as Te Aupōuri or their descendants.
