Tech-C

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Tech-C ( Technical Contact ) is the contact person who looks after a domain from a technical point of view (after the original purpose of a domain as a unique suffix for the computers of an institution, for example, the person who is responsible for these computers). When applying for most domains, at least the domain owner , Admin-C , Tech-C or Zone-C must be specified.

Legal position of Tech-C in Germany

In 1999 the Hamburg Higher Regional Court decided in the event that the owner and the Admin-C of a domain cannot be reached, that the Tech-C is also liable and can be claimed as a disruptor.

In contrast to this, the current case law does not see the registrar (incl. Tech-C) as a disruptor.
