The Technical Regulations on Waterways (TR-W) provide an overview of the technical rules and standards applicable in waterways engineering in Germany . The directory is therefore of particular relevance for the Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration (WSV).

Availability

The TR-W is published by the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure , the set of rules is provided by the Federal Institute for Hydraulic Engineering in Karlsruhe . Since 2013, the TR-W has been made available electronically via the central hydraulic engineering library . Access is free of charge.

Components

The TR-W comprises the following sections:

  1. Waterway-specific list of technical building regulations (WLTB) : The WSV is responsible for compliance with standards on all German waterways . The WLTB defines these requirements in the area of ​​security, for example.
  2. Technical rules for construction products and types of construction - construction regulation lists A and B as well as list C : Defines the approval of construction materials in hydraulic engineering.
